Non objective painter

making connections to life, emotions and events

Diana Curtis - Biography

Diane Curtis grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan and matured in the mountains of Colorado.  Her paintings reflect the emotional attachment to these places.  The texture, color and  feel of rocks, water, sand and sea can be found  in her work.  Shapes elude to animals, plants and mountains.  Being in those places evokes happiness in solitude and peace within the soul despite not knowing what the future holds.  She paints in oil and acrylic in an abstract mode to express her feelings about the plethora of life experiences.    Colors are subdued and quiet to reflect solitude and peace.

Judy Chicago writes ART MATTERS "only if it deals with issues that people care about in ways that they can understand".

While painting about the beauty in the universe, she is also trying to awake people to changes that must take place to continue living on earth.
